On March 2 (Monday), our Consulate General co-hosted the 2026 Korea-Canada Critical Minerals Networking Reception with the Canada office of the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR). The event brought together leading mining companies and government officials from around the world who gathered in Toronto for PDAC 2026 (Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada) — the largest mining convention in North America — to foster meaningful connections and support Korean companies in expanding exports and attracting investment.
As Prime Minister Mark Carney remarked at the World Economic Forum in Davos not long ago, this is a moment for like-minded middle powers to stand together. Korea and Canada are vital partners across critical minerals, battery materials, electric vehicles, and advanced manufacturing — and we look forward to deepening that mutually beneficial relationship for years to come.
