The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto held the second meeting of the K-Initiative Korean Language and Korean Studies Subcommittee on March 9 (Monday).
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Consul General Choi Kicheon and attended by Lee Ji-eun, Director of the Korean Education Center in Canada; Kim Young gon, Head of the King Sejong Institute at Renison University College; and Shin Ok-yeon, President of the Korean Schools Association, among others.
During the meeting, participants discussed: (1) establishing an information-sharing system among public institutions to expand Korean language education; (2) strategies to support Hangul and Korean studies; (3) measures to improve the operation of Korean language schools; and (4) strengthening cooperation among institutions for various events.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto will continue to enhance communication and collaboration among related institutions to further promote the Korean language, culture, and history to both the Korean community and Canadians.
